"UPDATE: A little over a week after deciding to switch insurance to State Farm, I was called and told that an underwriter decided our roof was too old and that State Farm would not cover our home—we had until the end of the month or just under 3 weeks to find new insurance. This is after we had cancelled with our previous carrier - who now would not take us back. So rather than saving some money on our monthly budget by switching to State Farm, we had to pay a new insurance company, the full escrow amount for insurance that should have been included in the escrow, as well as State Farm for the month. Also we have the threat of being turned down by every other carrier as well so we’re going through quote after quote to spend between $10,000 and $20,000 on a new roof to get out of this mess. When I called the agent, I got “the underwriter is a 3rd party. It’s not up to us,” reasoning. I get it, that’s life, but that 3rd party collects payment for their services from State Farm—so 3rd party is in name only. And I get it, the agent doesn’t call the shots State Farm corporate does. But if this is how State Farm wants to treat its customers, I’d argue this agent is working for the wrong company… When I called to see if they would make it right, I asked for them to cover the single month I owed to State Farm for the month of coverage—after the month had passed with no claims. I didn’t ask for a new roof or for them to cover a house they weren’t comfortable covering. I was told that just wasn’t possible—the tune changed quickly from sorry and helpful to more of a “good luck” vibe. Again, that’s life, I get it. Just know when push comes to shove, the agent is either unwilling, or just incapable of helping even in a small way. I paid. State Farm corporate gets their dues. The agent gets their commission. All the football stars get their contracts for the fancy commercials. It’s a bummer. Its life. But buyer beware. ORIGINAL POST: I was with Sandy Bryant State Farm a few years back but switched to another provider to save costs when we purchased our first home. Each year since Bobbi has called me a couple times a year, simply to check in and see how we were doing, no pressure, no rush. And even worked up a few quotes for me along the way. She recently called to check in and this time, our insurance had gone up enough with the other provider that switching back to State Farm was going to save us money each month. Bobbi was great in helping us get started up. Looking forward to working with them going forward."

RESPONSE TO UPDATE: Jonathan, if you only knew how horrible we all felt for your situation, and all that Bobbi did to try and get your policy issued, I strongly feel your negative review would have been put on our corporate website only, not my own page. There just comes a point when all efforts are exhausted, our hands are tied and we have to stay in the lane of being compliant. For an agents office or team to essentially pay for someone’s insurance when it was provided, even for one month, it is grounds for termination. As insurance consumers too, we DO understand exactly where you are coming from along with the validity of your justifiable dissatisfaction. We are truly, truly helpless in this matter and tried to go above and beyond to do what we could to help- “controlling what we can control”. I just hope you send your review/concerns to the true “powers at be”. Again, beyond sorry for all you went through. "
